Young Leadership

The Young Leadership Committee is a dynamic group that services the young adult population of our community through an ambitious calendar of social and religious events. The nucleus of YL's programming is the weekly Shabbat minyan, a spiritual service in a warm atmosphere, including a sermon by JC clergy or a dvar Torah by the William Fischman Resident Scholar. The YL minyan sponsors a monthly hot Kiddush and Friday night dinners to please the palate as well as the soul, and Friday night onegs in casual venues to meet other members as well as the rabbis.

Committees: Young Leadership

Young Leadership serves the younger members of The Jewish Center with a wide variety of events and services. The Shabbat morning minyan brings hundreds of vibrant men and women together in an atmosphere that is warm, relaxed and spiritual. Monthly hot kiddushes/onegs offer a casual venue to get to know other members as well as the Rabbis. For Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, YL celebrates in style with meals, singing and dancing.

Throughout the year, there are events and fundraisers. Most recently Young Leadership has hosted the annual BBQ on the roof for hundreds and a Bike-N-Brunch taking a tour up to the George Washington Bridge. In addition, hundreds of people join the Young Leadership on Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah for one of the most rousing and energized hakafot in Manhattan.

Young Leadership is always looking for more people to become involved in planning or events. If you would like to get involved please contact YL@jewishcenter.org:
