Sanford S. Lu
rie, a beloved Vice President of the Center, worked tirelessly to help create a warm, strong and inclusive Jewish Center. Inspired by his legacy, the JCU is proud to host seven Sanford Lurie Scholars and two Sanford Lurie Fellows, advanced graduate and Rabbinical students from Yeshiva University. The family and friends of Sanford S. Lurie, together with a generous grant from Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future, have sponsored this program in his memory. This pioneering initiative represents a new model for community building. This is part of Yeshiva University’s global plan to spread its vision across the country, as it builds upon our success and replicates this model in synagogues throughout the United States.
