March 9th Shabbat Hospitality
 Six Jewish Center families welcomed our jc connections friends into their homes for a beautiful shabbat dinner. All participants came together for an elegant dessert reception in another private home. Here is what one of our guests had to say.
"The JC Friday night connections dinner was a well-run event that provided a great opportunity to meet with other singles in the community in an intimate setting. Our hosts were excellent at helping to facilitate conversation and make sure everyone around the table had the opportunity to learn more about each other. Surprisingly, most of us encountered new faces at the dinner. The dessert reception was another great opportunity to meet new people and mingle with some friends."

December 1st- Rotating Table Shabbat Dinner at Darna Restaurant
On December 1st, we had our second rotating tables Shabbat dinner event. The tables and restaurant looked fantastic and we had a fun rotating experience. Everyone started dinner with an appetizer, then each guest moved to another table for the entrée and then shifted again for dessert. It was a great opportunity to meet new people and connect.

"Kudos on a well planned and orchestrated event.
It was my first time at such a get-together and I was pleasantly surprised.As I mentioned to my hosts, Rabbi Yosie & Rebizin Levine, they were both superb and made me (and the rest of the table) feel at ease.On a personal note, while I don't know if I made a "jc connection," I certainly met new faces with which to expand my circle of friends."

July 11th Dessert Challenge
On July 11th we had our first interactive dessert challenge. Each guest was assigned to a group/table. Every group received three flavors of ice-cream and quite a variety of toppings. As a group, all members were asked to design and create a new dessert. Then everyone moved around the room and had the opportunity taste the various creations.

 

"It was a very fun night -thank you.
I liked that we were split up into small groups that necessitated conversation and an exchange of ideas and also that it was set up to rotate around the room to give everyone a chance to meet other people and an 'excuse' to talk to anyone who they found interesting."

"Thank you for all your work for this event. I thought the challenge was a great ice (cream) breaker and clever and creative idea! (The challenge is getting people at the tables to participate for as long as possible). The size of the group was just right. You do get to see different sides to people that you wouldn't ordinarily see at a regular party/ event."

Hi Ruth, Benjamin, Adina, Gail and Peri,
Once again you did a fabulous job. Everyone that I spoke to after the event mentioned that they had a good time at this well organized event. In general, there is such a strong need for singles to have a place to be for Shabbos meals but to have a place for a meal and for there to be opportunity to meet is more than anyone can ask for.
We are all so grateful that you spend so much of your precious time devoted to our cause of finding a mate in a dignified and relaxed setting.

April 1st Lunch in Private Homes, Group Dessert Reception at a Private Home
On April 1st, we had our second jc connections event. Some of our Jewish Center young couples and young families hosted lunch for their friends through jc connections. A magnificent group dessert at another private home followed lunch. Both the hosts and guests met many new people. The hosts followed up with all guests after Shabbat, and once again, new connections were formed.
Adina, Gail and Peri:
I just wanted to thank you for organizing such a wonderful Shabbat lunch and dessert program on April 1st. You did a great job of selecting your hosts and hostesses. They were warm and wonderful to all. Being an out-of-towner, I especially appreciated the home hospitality. The other singles I spoke to were interesting and the discussion was lively. The "name your favorite movie" game at dessert created a number of extended conversations around the room - people who hadn't yet met could break the ice easily. In fact, I am now dating someone I met there. What a great idea - yasher koach to you all!

 On March 10th, we had our first jc connections event. Several Jewish Center host families welcomed our jc connections friends into their homes for a beautiful shabbat dinner. All participants came together for an elegant dessert reception in another private home. Each host followed up with each guest after the event and many new connections were formed. Below, we have printed a sample of one of the many wonderful emails that we received following the event. We look forward to seeing you at future jc connections events.

Adina, Gail and Peri,
Thank you for organizing such a fabulous event. I'm not sure where you managed to find so many new individuals but the evening served not only a social event but it gave many singles renewed hope that there is actually a greater pool of eligibles out there that we don't already know.
I appreciate your efforts in paying attention to every detail which is what made the evening such a great success. Most notable was the sensitivity on all of your parts to treat each guest with the utmost dignity.
I can't even begin to imagine how many hours you spent away from your respective families in preparation of the event. Please extend my thanks to the rest of the event committee and those hosting families who I did not have the privilege to meet.
It would be my pleasure to help you with any events in the future. Even if you just need someone to make phone calls, send emails, etc... I would love to lend a hand.
