Chevra Kadisha
Chevra Kadisha
In Jewish tradition, the mitzvah of burial is considered to be the ultimate kindness, for it is one that can never be repaid. The Chevrah Kadisha of The Jewish Center strives to perform this most important mitzvah with dignity and compassion. Starting with the rituals performed to prepare a body for burial known as the taharah, and continuing through the shiva period, in which they arrange for meals for the bereaved and minyanim in the shiva home, the Chevrah Kadisha is present for every need a mourning family may experience.
